HOUSTON, Jul 13, 2009 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Larry Pulliam, previously executive vice president, global sourcing and supply chain, is assuming new executive management responsibilities for Sysco's specialty companies, which include Sysco's specialty meat companies, FreshPoint produce companies, Guest Supply, International Food Group, and Pallas Foods, Sysco's recently acquired distributor in Ireland. He will also assume responsibility for SYGMA, Sysco's quick-serve restaurant distribution company, and continue to have executive management responsibility for Sysco's sales to contract and multi-unit customers in the casual dining and large venue market segments.
Pulliam, as executive vice president, foodservice operations, continues to report to Ken Spitler, Sysco's vice chairman, president and chief operating officer, to whom Pulliam's new responsibilities previously reported.
Sysco's supply chain and sourcing activities continue to report to Bill Day, senior vice president, merchandising and supply chain, and Day will report to Spitler.
